Last night the Tesla Motors company showed in operation automatic hot replacement car
batteries. The experiment was on the Tesla model S. Such replacement was put in a design initially, but still wasn’t used. And here in front of journalists and hundred clients the founder of the company Elon Mask showed work of experimental station on the fast replacement, capable to throw the car accumulator in only one and a half minutes. The traction accumulator is removed with the special manipulator, which right there changes the sat-down battery for the loaded. The driver doesn’t need to leave car salon. The service of replacement car batteries the company intends to begin at the end of this year, at first in California. Later the network of such stations will appear in a strip between Boston and Washington. Mask told that the exchange of the sat-down battery will manage to the driver approximately in as much, how many now costs 15 gallons (57 l) gasoline. Hot replacement will cost $60–80. Probably, the principle of hot replacement car batteries is only temporary exit; after all new batteries will be able to be loaded even quicker. In the following generation of electric cars the need for hot replacement practically won’t arise. And now the company builds the stations of replacement in a combination to express charging columns. And they can fill the accumulator of Tesla model S on 80% in 30 minutes or for 50% in 20 minutes. And it is free. It provides to the clients a choice — free of charge or quickly.
