Using the Kinect as some sort of “magic mirror”, researchers at the Technical University of Munich created an augmented reality application that lets people see what the insides of their bodies look like, as opposed to just seeing a reflection of themselves in the Kinect “mirror”. This project is called “mirracle”. The system uses the concept of an augmented reality magic mirror to create the illusion that the user has a kind of X-ray view into her own body. Such a system for example can be used for education of anatomy. It uses the Microsoft Kinect to estimate the position of the user. For more information watch video below.
