On the South Pole the Moon will be the first space observatory. Two private companies [ad name=”Google Adsense-3 11″] are engaged in implementation of the project of colonization of Moon. The first space observatory mission to the South Pole of the Moon is planned for 2016. Two private companies International Lunar Observatory Association (ILOA) and Moon Express decided to establish on the edge of a crater Malapert, which height makes five kilometers, a two-meter radio antenna and a small optical telescope. Need of this expensive project — and it will manage in $100 million — is caused by several factors. Data which will be provided by space observatory will be much more exact, than the data obtained by land and even by space observatories. The idea to place a telescope on a dark side of the Moon appeared at people for a long time. In Selena’s this part of a hindrance to devices aren’t terrible: the probability of emergence of background noise is minimized. But in that case there is also other difficulty — differences of temperatures. If to place telescopes on one of poles, the difference between night time and daytime temperature will be less (+90 and-50 degrees Celsius) that essentially for equipment work. The choice fell on the South Pole as concentration of natural resources in this point is much higher, than on the North Pole of our satellite. Functioning of telescopes will be ensured by solar panels, and data will be transferred to Earth directly. Besides scientific tasks the lunar base will solve also the commercial. The Moon Express Company plans to begin on the Moon mining — metal, minerals and water. Metal and minerals will be useful for production of products on Earth, and water is required to astronauts who will lodge on the Moon. Experimentally to the colonization of Moon at first will try to send a small telescope of the size of a box for footwear. And before it the district investigates a moon rover which will collect all information necessary for future mission. If experts don’t manage to carry out preparation for space mission by 2016, its terms can be removed till 2018.
