New Planet Near the Triple Star HD 132 563

More recently, scientists announced the discovery of new planets near the triple star HD 132 563.The main star, HD 132563A, is binary. The study conducted by a team of scientists led by Silvano Desidera of the Astronomical Observatory of Padua, Italy. The new planet moves on the orbit of the second star in the system HD 132563B. As in the binary component of the main star, the new planet was detected by spectral analysis.

Exoplanet MOA 2009 BLG

An international team of astronomers has described a new exoplanet MOA-2009-BLG-266Lb, which is only 10 times larger than Earth by mass. Scientists have acted according to the method of gravitational microlensing, which can detect low-mass planets in wide orbits. As it turned out, the mass of the star is 0,56 ± 0,09 sunny. Planet moves around its orbit with semi-major axis of 3.2 (+1.9, -0.5) а.e.,making one revolution in 7.6 (+7.7, -1.4) years.MOA-2009-BLG-266Lb was one of the first low-mass exoplanet located in “snow line”, conventional boundary, which takes place at such a distance from the luminary, where the temperature allows the existence of hydrogen compounds (water, ammonia, methane) in the form of solid ice particles.

New Alien Planets

France’s CoRoT satellite detected the 10 in advance unknown alien planets, and all of which are gaseous like Saturn or Jupiter, including two Neptune-like objects that circle the same star,.According to scientists the new discoveries highlight the diversity of worlds beyond our solar system and increase count of extrasolar planets up to 565

Nanosatellite for Studying Exoplanets

Researchers of Laboratory Im. Draper and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) designed nanosatellite, called ExoPlanetSat.ExoPlanetSat is a three typical nanosatellite CubeSat into a single structure. The nano satellite has a volume of three liters, it’s 10 centimeters tall, 10 centimeters wide, and 30 centimeters long.According to researchers ExoPlanetSat will trak only perspective stars.
