The Biggest Black Holes are Outgrowing Their Galaxies

The biggest black holes are growing faster than the rate of stars being formed in their galaxies, in accordance with two new studies using data from NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory and other telescopes. More than many years, astronomers have collected data on the arrangement of stars in galaxies and the growth of the biggest black holes (that is, those with millions or billions the mass of the Sun) in their centers.

Sea Level Rise Accelerating

Scientists indicate that sea level rise is accelerating, in accordance with a new study based on NASA data. As seas warm and ice melts, Earth ocean’s have risen steadily. This acceleration is driven mainly by increased melting in Greenland and Antarctica that could double the total sea level rise projected by 2100 according to lead author Steve Nerem. Nerem is a professor of Aerospace Engineering Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder, a fellow at Colorado’s Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES), and a member of NASA’s Sea Level Change team.

Top 10 Facts about Jupiter

Today, we have listed top 10 facts about Jupiter, that is worth knowing. Jupiter is the largest planet that we know of now. It’s similar to a star, but it never got big enough to start burning. It has big storms like the Great Red Spot, which has been going for hundreds of years. Jupiter also has rings, but they’re too faint to see very well. So there are many facts about Jupiter that is really fascinating, but we distinguished top 10 facts which is the most interesting.

Space Elevator will be created by Japanese

Space elevator will be created by a Japanese company by 2050. It will allow transferring humans cargos into space. The space elevator can reduce the cost of delivering payloads to space by 90% which will destroy the need for rockets. Cargo generally costs approximately 22.000$ per 1kg via rockets. But Using Obayashi’s space elevator the cost would be closer to 200$. It is also convenient for long-distance space travel. It comprises of a 96.000 km (60.000m) long carbon nanotube cable. For instance, the international space station is 330 km away from Earth, and the Moon is 284,400 km away from Earth.

Crater Tadpoles on Mars

NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) demonstrates an impact crater tadpole because of the valley that was carved by water that used to fill it. It is often difficult to differentiate between inlet and outlet channels, but water always flows downhill. In this particular occasion, scientist can deduce that water is flowing outward because they have the necessary terrain-height information.

Small Asteroid to shave Safely by Earth

The US space agency said “The space rock will shave safely by Earth at around 5:30 pm”. It will remain about 39,000 miles (64,000 kilometers) from Earth, which is less than one-fifth the distance to the Moon.“Asteroids of this size do not often approach this close to our planet — maybe only once or twice a year” : said Paul Chodas, manager of the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. According to the NASA an asteroid bigger than a city bus is on track to zoom by Earth Friday at a safe but close distance, less than one-fifth as far away as the Moon.  The asteroid is estimated to be between 50 and 130 feet (15 and 40 meters) in size.

10 Awesome Facts About The Sun

The Sun is the star at the center of our solar system and is responsible for the Earth’s climate and weather. It is an almost perfect sphere with a difference of just 10km in diameter between the poles and the equator. The average radius of the Sun is 695,508 km (109.2 x that of the Earth) of which 20–25% is the core. Its gravity holds the solar system together, keeping everything from the biggest planets to the smallest particles of debris in its orbit. Electric currents in the Sun generate a magnetic field that is carried out through the solar system by the solar wind. The connection and interactions between the Sun and Earth drive the seasons, ocean currents, weather, climate, radiation belts and aurorae. There are billions of stars like our Sun scattered across the Milky Way Galaxy. Today we have prepared 10 awesome facts about the Sun that will arouse your curiosity.

Top 10 Curious Facts about Mercury

Our solar system is home with 8 amazing planets. There are small, rocky, big and gassy planets. Some are so hot that metals would melt on the surface, and some are freezing cold. Every planet has its unique features and mysteries, that are really fascinating. Mercury is one of four terrestrial planets in the Solar System, and is a rocky body like Earth. In this article we will introduce 10 curious facts about Mercury that will arouse your interest.
