Aldebaran Robotics, a world leader in humanoid robots development, has introduced new Nao Next Gen robot with the improved software and hardware features. The robot is now equipped with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom chip which is powerful enough to handle the dual HD video streams and perform parallel tasks. The two simultaneous video streams allow Nao Next Gen robot for better face and object recognition even in the poor lighting conditions. The robot got a Nuance voice recognition technology which allows for better understanding of the spoken sentences and more accurate interaction. Robot can even spot certain words in the sentence and answer them within the conversation.  The new Nao Next Gen robot got an improved walking technology, which allows for not only walking faster, but also, thanks to the falling mechanism installed, preparing robot’s body for falling and then standing up again from the floor. Nao robots produced by Aldebaran Robotics became the most popular humanoids in the world. Being established in 2005, company has sold more than 2000 Nao robots worldwide within the first three years of its business in the humanoid robots market. The latest Nao Next Gen robot is mainly dedicated for research and teaching but the manufacturer also suppose that the robot may be also used for personal well-being.
