Scientists from the Laboratory of Robotics of the National University of Singapore decided to teach the robots to feel human emotions. This will be done by simulating the biological and psychological processes through the use of artificial analogues of hormones. The project itself was named Lovotics. Scientists want to create all the stages of love fever for robots, changing levels оf analogues of human’s hormone, such as oxytocin, dopamine, serotonin and endorphins. In this robots will be able to experience not only love but also other emotional states, joy, satisfaction, dissatisfaction and even jealousy. Moreover, it is planned that the robots will express their feelings by motions, vibrations, sounds and even changes in colors.
The study’s authors believe that this will help improve the quality of cooperation between man and technology.
