Team of Scientists Developed Smartphone Brain Scanner

A team of scientists in Denmark have managed to develop a smartphone brain scanners consisting of a low-cost 14-channel EEG headset with a wireless connection to a smartphone (Nokia N900), enabling minimally invasive EEG monitoring in naturalistic settings. The smartphone brain scanner reads and produces in a real time data that can be used to interpret the feelings and reactions of people under examination. Users just put on a special headset, download an application into the phone. This new technology can really help bring brain scanning to the masses. A lot of people will be able to use it to help themselves or other people, such as doctors, interviewers, cops. Data recorded by the application can then be easily shared to help tailor a person’s preferences or experience when using a service.
