Electric Link between Saturn and Enceladus

Cassini has discovered an electrical connection between Saturn and its icy moon Enceladus. Enceladus is the only geologically active moon in the Saturn system.According scientists huge emissions of water and ice on Enceladus create a flow of electrons and spots in Saturn’s aurora. The result is a cloud of electrically charged plasma, which shoots electrons along magnetic field lines toward the north pole of Saturn, creating a steady electric current, and spot the aurora at the poles of the planet.Scientists think that the discovery of Saturn is one of the most important fields from Cassini and can help to understand the strange magnetic field of Saturn. It gives the first visual connection between Saturn and one of its moons.
